Meet information for Oct 11th

The Middle School & High School will be competing at DIFFERENT races.  There is also a change from the original schedule for Middle School.  Please see below for all meet information.

MIDDLE SCHOOL @ Sim Earich Meet, Trumbull County Fairgrounds:

This is a fairly large meet and a flat/fast course if it isn't muddy.  Good competition to run some fast times if weather cooperates!

DIRECTIONS: Trumbull Co Fairgrounds:  899 Everett Cortland Hull Rd, Cortland, OH 

*There are multiple ways to get there...you can take turnpike instead.  Directions below have you entering from the East side of the fairgrounds (off of Hoagland instead of Everett Hull Rd) as it is easier to find then finding the tiny little back roads.  

Take I-480 East toward Youngstown           

Take exit 26 on the left for U.S. 422 N toward Warren           

Follow signs for US-422 E/Warren and merge onto US-422 E           

Slight left onto OH-305 E           

Turn left onto OH-305 E/Oak Hill Dr           

Turn right onto OH-305 E/Center St W           

Turn left onto Hoagland Blackstub Road (there is a stop sign at this intersection)        

The Fairgrounds will be on you left about 1/2 mile.          

Estimated time from Independence is 1 hour 15 min.

Fall Sports Awards Program is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12^th  @ 6:30 pm at Independence High School.

Middle School Meet Results

The Middle School team raced a tri meet at Orange yesterday.  Despite the rain and mud, the runners ran some fast times!  They did not have a team score or official places when we left but they should email those to Coach Polman sometime this week.  By watching the finish of the race, it looked like the Independence girls won but that is not official.

Saturday, September 6th Meet Info

This weekend the High School and Middle School teams will be competing at different locations.  

MIDDLE SCHOOL WILL BE AT BRECKSVILLE FOR THE BRUCE LERCH INVITE:

7:00  Bus departs from High School
8:30  Boys Middle School Race
9:00  Girls Middle School Race
10:30 Approximate time of return to IHS
**We must have 5 runners on the start line to compete in these races.  If someone doesn't show up/can't run, then we will be moved to the Open Race which will race a little later.
* We will NOT be stopping to eat on the way home.
*  Coach Blaze will be attending this meet with the high schoolers.

Directions:
Brecksville High School: Take Rt. 21 South to Mill Rd.   Turn right on Mill Rd. and the school will be on the left. NO PARKING at Hilton Elementary (this is where race starts/finishes). The High School is located less than .5 miles away and there is a connecting driveway from Middle/High School to the area where the race starts/finishes. 


HIGH SCHOOL WILL BE AT HEDGES-BOYERS PARK FOR THE TIFFIN CARNIVAL:

6:45  Bus departs from High School
10:35  Girls High School (Div II Race)

Both Middle School and High School Cross Country teams will be racing at the Avon Lake Early Bird meet on Sat, August 30th.  The meet will take place at Lorain County Community College.

Early Bird Meet Information

The Blue Devils kick off the season with their first meet this Saturday with the Early Bird Invitational.  The meet is hosted by Berkshire and will take place at Kent State University-Geauga Campus.

Bus departs from IHS @ 6:30 AM

Rt 422 East to Rt 44 Exit
Turn left/North on Rt 44 (Ravenna Road)
Follow Rt 44 North for about 5-6 miles.
Turn Right/East on Rt 87 (Kinsman Road)
Follow Rt 87 for about 3 miles to the Burton Square.
Burton Square has a one direction flow.  Go ¾ around the square, then turn right/north on N. Cheshire St, which becomes Claridon-Troy Rd. Kent State Geauga Branch will be on the right approx one mile from the square.  It is just beyond the Geauga County Fairgrounds.
